Welcome to our model. 

 

This is nomy, or rather; this is where you get to take a look at what nomy will be. 

 

 

Imagine a book where you can find every single technique, or method within cooking. 

Or maybe we should not say book at all? Maybe library is more fitting, since we are talking about all the combined knowledge from gastronomical trade schools and craftsmen from around the world. 

Every cut with a knife, every whisk with a whisk, every vegetable or fish taught. 

 

Now imagine all this knowledge and technical, craft expertise translated into a video format. 

This is what nomy can do; we transform books into videoes to give a better and easier way of relaying education. 

 

The model you are looking at now, is just that, a model. A 2D drawing of a 4D interactive site. 

 

The basic layout of this model is just to create a background, on which to present the different workings and areas being developed. 

 

We have setup a couple of test videos for you, just to get a feel for the format. All the videos will be littered with tags and toggles, so we can interlink the information, and make the educational content personal and interactive for the user. 

The voice or language of the videos are controlled in the personal settings of each user. 

In this model we have used English and Swahili (and labeled the videos as such) to get a feel for how this will work. 

 

The visual format we have chosen in the videos is ‘point of view’, filmed from above. 

All technical knowledge has been handed down through the generations, from master to apprentice, through physical show-and-tell, in this very format, so we know it works. 

This means we show the hands and the skills, not the persons. 

By changing hands, we can diversify the material, to make it a generic tool that is not meant for one, single ethnicity or continent. This is a ‘book’ for all. 

Similarly, the videos will be recorded with sound but no speak. This enables all videos to be dubbed in various languages, to be added into the tool.

; If you just signed up as a student, you can start your customized education courses straight away. 

These are composed of the videos in the library to form a line of specific, gradeable, courses to fit your needs.  

As you build your skill set, your grade points will be visible on your profile. 

You can watch as many segments or educational videos as you like, without “going to school”. 

When you feel ready to take the tests, you log on the learning symbol, and go for it; you will have a limited number of tries per course segment. 

Upon completions, your test will be examined, and a grade or points will be assigned. 

 

 

 

; If you just want to have the power of gastronomical knowledge at your fingertips.  

Use the site to get a better understanding of your field. Use it as a combination between Netflix and an old school encyclopedia, meaning that you can binge on the hundreds of hours of gastro-technical videos, or use it as your go-to helper, when faced with a direct question or need.  

How do you debone a whole leg of lamb or what is basic kitchen hygiene?  

 

; If your employer has a special course module for internal staff education, these will be assessed via the brand doorway. Here we create specific courses for companies, that have a need to relay specific techniques or functions to their staff.  

This can also be part of the trainee program, so that an applicant is already up to speed with the tasks of the job, before starting work. 

 

The academy will be much more then a direct source of information, it will be a school. 

On the community site students can interact and share dreams, trade business banter or help each other with ongoing educational projects. 

This is the playground; a place where creativity and individual growth is the goal. 

Here you can also find recipes and information on everything from open events to exclusive content from professional chefs or VIP guests. Here special offers and job searching functions can be set up. 

As long as you have a nomy profile, you can excess the community.
